Turn your TerraTrike into an electric trike
TerraTrike offered the Falco as a factory option for several years, and we still support every one of those trikes. TerraTrike trikes have front disc brakes and, in TerraTrike's own words, "no rear brake", so the rear wheel swaps cleanly for a motor wheel. Many current TerraTrikes run 24 in wheels; the f7.9 is built in 20, 24 and 700c.
How to order: three choices above.
Your TerraTrike model. This sets your rear wheel size. Not listed? Pick "Other model / not sure" and we will confirm with you.
Controls. Wired plus/minus ($99), BLE wireless module to use the Falco Flash app ($149), wired console ($249), or the wireless module with plus/minus ($248) or console ($398).
Cassette. Move your own cassette across ($0), or we fit a new single-speed, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11-speed cassette ($32 to $100).
The price shown is the full price for your choices: $2,295 for the system, plus controls and cassette. Speed limit: we ship set to 20 mph, the US road-legal limit. Need 15 mph (EU), 28 mph where legal, or an adjustable limit (+$99)? Add a note at checkout or call 877-278-6323. Shipping: $187 to the US, $212 to Canada, $420 to Europe, Australia, New Zealand and every other country. This includes the required hazmat fee for shipping the lithium battery.

How the f7.9 fits each TerraTrike
Rambler (24 in rear) · Straight fit
TerraTrike's most popular trike: 24 in wheels, chromoly frame, 17.5 in seat and a 400 lb load rating. A 24 in f7.9 wheel matches the stock size. Weston rode his Rambler 150 miles, Houston to Austin (story below). See it on terratrike.com.
Rambler (older) (20 in rear) · Straight fit
Earlier Ramblers with 20 in wheels.
Rebel (24 in rear) · Straight fit
New entry model, 24 in wheels, 260 lb load rating. The motor and battery use part of that rating, so check your weight plus gear. See it on terratrike.com.
Aluminium version of the GT, 20 in front and 24 in rear, hydraulic brakes, 280 lb rating. See it on terratrike.com.
EVO (24 in rear) · Straight fit
20 in front, 24 in rear. EVO owners ride Falco.
Maverick (20 in rear) · Straight fit
20 in wheels, 8-speed.
Rogue (20 in rear) · Call us first
Uses an Enviolo stepless hub in the rear wheel. The f7.9 replaces that wheel and uses a normal cassette instead, so you would change to derailleur gears. Call us to talk it through. See it on terratrike.com.
Traveler (20 in rear) · Call us first
Folding model with an Enviolo hub in the rear wheel. Same note as the Rogue: the f7.9 swaps the hub gear for a cassette. Call us. See it on terratrike.com.
Tandem Pro (20 in rear) · Call us first
Tandem, 20 in wheels, 450 lb rating. The Falco assists both riders; call us to plan the battery. See it on terratrike.com.
Spyder (700c rear) · Call us first
Fast 700c trike with a through-axle rear. We build the f7.9 in 700c; call us about the axle. See it on terratrike.com.
What the conversion involves
Swap the rear wheel. The f7.9 arrives as a complete wheel, built in your size, with the motor, controller and sensors inside the hub. Move your cassette across, drop the wheel in and fit the torque arm.
Mount the battery. Most trike owners mount the 672 Wh battery behind the seat or on a rear rack, low and central.
Add the controls. Thumb throttle and a console or the Falco Flash app. Reverse and regenerative braking are set from the controls.
No cutting, drilling or welding. Most owners finish in an afternoon; any bike shop can do it.
Please read before you convert. TerraTrike's lifetime frame warranty excludes damage from assist systems that exceed the trike's capacity or are not compatible with its design, and damage from overloading. Stay within your model's load rating including the motor and battery (about 21 lb).
TerraTrike’s own e-assist, and how the f7.9 differs
TerraTrike sells the Boost Kit e+: a Bosch Performance Line mid-drive (75 Nm, 400 Wh) that replaces the boom, $3,290 to $3,390. The f7.9 is a hub motor instead, with a 672 Wh battery, a throttle, reverse and regenerative braking, for $2,295.
Not sure about your trike? Pick your model above, or "Other model / not sure". Call 877-278-6323 or book a free call before you order and we will check it with you. Full fit guide: will it fit my trike? Thru-axle frames: ask us about the drop-out conversion.

The Falco f7.9 is a 750 W, 48 V, 672 Wh electric drive that turns the bike, trike or tandem you already own into a smart eBike. The motor, controller, torque sensor and speed sensor are all inside the rear hub, so installation is a wheel swap plus a battery. It assists to 20 mph in the US (28 mph where legal), goes up to 120 miles on a charge at level 1, freewheels with zero resistance when the assist is off, and regenerates on descents. It is the same drive that powers the Three Wheels of Magic. Read what owners say in the customer stories.

ANT+/BLE wireless module
Needed for wireless mode. It connects the motor to the Falco Flash app on your phone so you can set assist and regeneration levels, change modes, read the sensors and more.
Wired console
An eBike computer on a five-foot cable that plugs straight into the motor. No charging, no pairing: plug in, switch on, ride. It comes with a plus/minus controller for power levels, brake and wheel circumference.
Wired plus/minus
A simple controller for raising and lowering the power level, switching between pedal-assist and regeneration, applying the brake, and reverse on trikes.
Combinations. The wired plus/minus and the wireless module work together: set things up in the app, then ride without your phone. The wireless module and the wired console cannot be used at the same time; choose one.
Why it rides differently
Patented five-phase motor: zero freewheeling resistance, about 40% more power than a three-phase motor, high-efficiency assist and regeneration.
Torque and speed sensing: power arrives in proportion to how hard you pedal, so it feels like your own legs, only stronger. Adjust the level any time.
Clean installation: wireless console and plus/minus controller keep cables to a minimum.
Five-year motor warranty: a direct drive has no gears to wear, and we have built them since 2011.
