People ask us all the time: can a Falco trike pull a trailer? The answer from our owners is yes. Dogs, groceries, camping gear, even a grandchild in a child trailer. Here are a few of them.

Why a Falco handles a load well

  • The motor is in the wheel. Extra weight does not put extra strain on your chain or gears.
  • Reverse. Backing a trike and trailer out of a tight spot is easy.
  • Regenerative braking. It helps hold your speed when the trailer pushes you downhill.
  • Pick your assist. Turn it up for a hill start with a heavy load, then back down on the flat.

Before you hitch up

  • Check the hitch. Many trailer hitches mount at the rear axle. Tell us your trailer when you order and we will make sure it fits with the motor wheel.
  • Stay inside the trailer's weight limit, and your trike's.
  • Start gently. Use a low gear and low assist for the first few rides while you get used to the extra length and weight.
