Your Falco eDrive can use an Android tablet as its screen. We use the ZTE Grand X View 4, an 8-inch tablet. Setup takes about 10 minutes. Follow the steps in order.
Part A: Set up the tablet
- Charge it. Plug in the charger that came in the box. Charge the tablet fully before your first ride.
- Turn it on. Hold the Power key until the screen lights up. Follow the welcome screens: pick your language, join your Wi-Fi, and sign in with a Google account. A SIM card is not needed.
- Get the Falco app. Open the Play Store. Search for “Falco Flash BLE” and install Falco Flash BLE 5.2. If the app is already on the home screen, skip this step.
- Keep the screen on. Go to Settings › Display › Screen timeout and pick 30 minutes. Now the screen stays on while you ride.
Part B: Connect to your Falco eDrive
- Turn on Bluetooth and Location. Swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap Bluetooth and Location so both icons light up.
- Power on the eDrive. Switch on your Falco system. The small green light on the wireless module should blink. You now have 3 minutes to connect.
- Connect in the app. Open Falco Flash BLE. Tap Allow on every permission request. Tap the blue scan button. Then tap “Falco eDrive” in the list. You are connected!
Won’t connect?
- Turn the eDrive off, then on. Wait for the blinking green light.
- Connect within 3 minutes of switching on.
- Turn the tablet’s Bluetooth off, then on.
- Close the app and open it again.
- Connect inside the app only. You do not need to pair in the tablet’s Bluetooth settings.
Before you ride
- Lock the tablet firmly in its handlebar mount.
- Change settings only when you are stopped.
- Charge the tablet after each ride.
