Falco eBike System Q&A: Speed, Regeneration, Turbo, Cruise, and Display

Falco eBike System Q&A: Speed, Regeneration, Turbo, Cruise, and Display

Falco eBike Systems are packed with innovative features that make riding more efficient, powerful, and fun. But with so many options, it’s natural to have questions about what each function does — and why your console behaves the way it does.

Here’s a quick guide answering some of the most common rider questions.

1. Does the Falco system have a maximum speed function?

✅ Yes. The Falco eBike System includes both:

  • A speed limit setting (CRM – Circumference Limit), adjustable between 700–2400 (default: 2234). This sets the maximum assisted speed based on wheel size.

  • Cruise mode, which unlocks and speeds up to 28 mph. Without cruise enabled, the system restricts assist to 20 mph.

2. How does the regenerative feature work?

✅ The regenerative system serves two purposes:

  • Adds charge to the battery while coasting or braking, by converting kinetic energy into electrical energy.

  • Acts as a drag brake, providing electromagnetic resistance to help slow the trike.

On the console, regeneration appears as negative power bars when it registers above the display threshold.

3. What about Turbo mode — is it just for short bursts?

✅ Exactly. Turbo mode is designed for:

  • Short bursts of maximum power, such as climbing steep hills.

  • Not for continuous use, since extended Turbo operation can cause excess heat.

🔒 Important: Turbo doesn’t draw “more than 100%” of the battery — it simply uses the maximum available power. The system includes thermal protection and will cut off assist if limits are exceeded, keeping your motor and battery safe.

4. What is Cruise mode for?

✅ Cruise mode is the high-speed assist mode. When enabled, your Falco system supports speeds up to 28 mph. When cruise is off, the system defaults to the standard 20 mph assist limit.

Use cruise when you want faster, sustained riding — for example, on open roads or long flat stretches.

5. What does the lock icon mean?

✅ The lock icon indicates the system is in ECO mode — the default, energy-efficient assist mode. It confirms that you’re not in Turbo or Cruise.

6. Why don’t I always see battery or regeneration levels on the display?

✅ This is one of the most common questions! The answer is simple:

  • In pedal assist mode, you may not be drawing enough power from the battery to register bars on the console.

  • That’s normal — it means the system is working efficiently.

  • In throttle mode, you’re pulling more power, so bars are more likely to appear.

If the bars don’t always show up, nothing is wrong — your system is behaving exactly as designed.

The Bottom Line

Falco’s eBike System is built for efficiency, performance, and flexibility. From regenerative braking to configurable speed limits, and from Turbo bursts to smooth Cruise mode, each feature helps you tailor your ride to your style.

And if you notice your display bars don’t always move — smile! That means your system is running so efficiently that the draw is too small even to register.
