We have been using Falco electric assist for over 5 years. My wife Eileen and I participated in an exciting cycling tour of Japan this spring. The tour was organized by Santana and utilized a small cruise ship to visit 5 Japanese islands - with 1 or 2 days of cycling at each destination. We rode our Greenspeed GTT5 tandem recumbent trike with a Falco motor assist. Because of the airline restrictions on transporting standard 48 volt lithium ion batteries, we took 10 LiGo battery units - assembling them into two 36 volt, 13.5 amp-hour packages.

Despite the frequently hilly terrain, one battery package was enough on most days to allow the 64 year old stoker and 78 year old captain to keep pace with others. To provide a wide range of gearing with 20” wheels, the trike is fitted with a 65T chainring and a Schlumpf 2.5:1 bottom bracket gearbox and 11-32T sprockets. We use a dedicated cell phone to wirelessly connect to the Falco motor controller. It was an extraordinary ride with Falco Electric Assist.
